INTRODUCTION

Paul’s Computer Institute (PCI) offers the best professional training in IT (INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY), viz; Data Processing, Accounting, Programming, Hardware/Software Maintenance, Repairs, Networking & internet services in Bamenda Cameroon. Founded by Paul C. Mickelson, Retired Firefighter from Beloit, Wisconsin, U.S.

PCI is currently owned by a Board of Directors (Friends of PCI) with Headquarters in Wisconsin, United States.

PCI has a well-equipped library with thousands of books available to students and staff for research.

All registered students have access to free internet training and browsing at the school internet center.

 

Staff: PCI has a well trained and internationally certified staff from leading IT institutes namely Microsoft, CISCO Networking Academy, 1C3 (Internet and Computing Core),  & Brainbench.

 

CISCO: PCI is officially approved as a CISCO Networking Academy (see separate brochure). To train and certify Network Specialists.

Training Objectives: The aims of the various training programmes are defined from the general objectives of the vocational training taking into consideration the working situation. The goal of the training is to equip the students with practical skills in the various trades, taking into consideration the labour market situation and demand.

Certifications: Candidates will be required to undergo Continuous assessment and sit in for an end of course internal exam. The candidates are also recommended to register for the NATIONAL DIPLOMA exams organized by the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training scheduled to take place in December each year. Students  who succeed in this exam will earn a VOCATIONAL QUALIFICATION DIPLOMA (VQD) from the government. Registration for the National Diploma will be done separately. There are also several international certification programs available through partnership agreements we have developed with Microsoft, Cisco, PearsonVue, Brainbench, etc.

 

Career Opportunities: Holders of the Vocational Qualification Diploma perform their activities in all sectors: private companies, public institutions (ministries,…), semi-public corporations, multinational corporations, law firms, medical offices, public secretariats (self-employment), etc.

Admission Schedule: Regular classes begin in October and end in August and December of the next Year.

Scholarships:  Friends of PCI offer scholarships to students for training each year in August. Check the notice board for interview date and results during this period.

Financial Obligations: Candidates are required to pay their fees before studies at the beginning of each Sequence. Students are expected to pay their Graduation fee before their final exams, amount to be determined at that time.

Special Courses: Candidates who can not follow the regular training programs can negotiate with the administration for special courses designed to suit their needs and time.

Holiday Courses: Holiday courses are offered in June & July for students to help build up a professional approach in their studies and reinforce school training. Courses are offered here according to Levels: junior (primary school), introductory, intermediate, advanced and professional (Secondary and High School).
