| 200 Donations of $1,000 will make a dream come true in Africa. What is the story? There is great need in Cameroon to provide the educational means by which people can become more connected to technology. To meet that need Paul Mickelson, a retired firefighter from Beloit, WI invested his retirement pension to start Paul's Computer Institute in Bamenda - Cameroon. PCI started in 1997 with a staff of three and a handful of students. Today it has a staff of 35 and a student body of over 300. Graduates of PCI are in great demand in the work force and are making great strides infusing technology into their country. PCI operates on the adage; give a person a fish and he/she eats for a day. Teach them how to fish and they and their families will eat for a lifetime. What is the dream? PCI is currently renting a building which is too small to meet the growing its needs. The dream is to construct a building to meet the growing needs of PCI. A local chief has generously donated ten acres of land to house the building. Our building fund has $100 000 to this effect, but we need $ 200 000 more to build a facility and purchase necessary furniture and equipment. Please help us to make a dream of a proven institution come true. What can I or my organization do? You can make a tax deductible gift to The Friends of PCI Inc., a (501c3) not for profit entity. The Friends of PCI is based in the United States and oversees all donations and expenditures.
